What is a pennant? How does it work?

A ‘pennant’ is squash talk for a ‘season’. We have 3 main pennants per year, Autumn, Winter and Spring (We play in Summer with a more casual competition)
When you enter a pennant, you will be placed in a grade with similar skilled players. You’ll compete against the players in your grade on an individual ladder, prizes are awarded to each person who finishes on top of the ladder as well as opportunity to move up into the next grade.

Not the competitive type? Sign up for the Thursday night social comp, it’s a great mix of grades and there’s special attention paid to the social side of squash. It’s ay 7.00 on Thursdays.

While Squash is a one on one sport, you’ll be placed on a team with 3 other players, (don’t worry, we make the teams). A great team supports one another with tips and encouragement during and after the game.

Everybody remembers what it was like to start squash, you’ll find lots of people around the club to ask questions and get some guidance with your game.

Each week your team will play against another team, the accumulative scores are added to the team ladder. At the end of the pennant the top teams battle it out for the title and some sweet prizes.

You’ll need to pay your 2019 membership to play in any of the pennants. Membership covers your insurance and upkeep of the the club.
